Image Alt Text Checker
Paste a page’s HTML. The tool lists every image and marks the ones with no description, an empty one, or one that is just a file name.
Fill in the fields above and the result shows here as you type.
Good to know
- To get a page’s HTML: open the page, right-click, choose "View page source", select all and copy.
- Alt text is the sentence read aloud to someone who cannot see the picture, and the text a search engine uses to understand it. Describe what is in the photo in a few plain words.
- A purely decorative image (a divider, a background swirl) should have an empty alt, written alt="". Those are listed separately and are not errors.
