What I keep, and when it goes.

One page, plain language. If something here is unclear, email me and I will fix the page.

What I keep

If you fill in a form on this site or book a call: your name, email, phone number and business name if you gave them, and what you wrote to me.

If you book a call: the time you picked and the topic.

If you use the free tools: nothing, unless you ask for your report by email. The tools run in your browser and what you type stays on your device. If you ask for the report, I keep your email address, your first name if you gave it, and the names of the tools you used. The results themselves are emailed to you and not stored.

That is it. There are no ad trackers or analytics scripts on this site. The only cookie is the one that stops the guides pop-up showing twice. Videos only load from YouTube (its no-cookie version) when you press play.

Where it is kept

On Waypoint’s own database and CRM, on a server in Montréal, Canada.

To run the site and send email, your message passes through Netlify (website hosting) and Resend (email delivery). Both are US companies. They carry the message; they are not where I store it.

I never sell it, share it or add you to anyone else’s list.

How long I keep it

If you got in touch or booked a call and it did not turn into work, your details are deleted 12 months after we were last in touch. That happens automatically, every night, from both the database and the CRM.

If you become a client, I keep your records for six years after the last invoice, because the Canada Revenue Agency requires business records to be kept that long.

If you signed up for the newsletter, or ticked the box for occasional emails when asking for a free tools report, I keep your email for as long as you stay subscribed. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Asking for a report without ticking the box gets you the report and nothing else.

If you unsubscribe or ask me not to email you, I keep your email address on a do-not-email list, and nothing else, so you are never emailed again.

Nightly backups are kept for 14 days, so anything deleted is gone from the backups 14 days later.

Waypoint Social (my posting tool)

Waypoint Social is the scheduler I use to post for my own brands (Snortlo, Waypoint, Keegix, Staffkin). When one of those accounts is connected, for example a TikTok, YouTube, Facebook or Instagram account, the tool keeps the access the platform gives it, the account name and profile picture, and the posts and basic stats (views, likes, followers) it needs to schedule posts and show how they did.

It is only used to publish the posts I create and schedule for those accounts. It is never sold or shared, and it stays on the same server in Montréal.

Disconnecting an account removes its access from the tool. You can also remove access at any time in the platform’s own settings.

Deleting it sooner

Email hello@waypointns.ca and ask. I will delete your details the same day and reply to confirm. You can also ask what I hold about you, and I will send you a copy.
