Good to know
- A robots meta tag is the reliable way to keep a page out of search results. Blocking it in robots.txt does not do that, and it stops Google seeing this tag at all.
- Common pages to keep out: thank-you pages, internal search results, staff-only pages, and thin test pages.
- No tag at all means "index this and follow the links", which is what you want on almost every page.
